Ok so i am currenlty watching a documentary on Sept 11?

Question

As im hoping everybody knows what happened on Sept 11.

Well as everybody knows the U.S. is almost always the first country to send foriegn add to countrys when disasters strike.

Now i want to know is, have any countries and if any had sent foriegn add to the U.S. and if possible i would like to know which countries and how much they sent in Aid. A link would be nice if possible.

I had the honor and the privilege of working at Ground Zero following the attacks. And I worked alongside volunteers from Canada, Britain and Japan. Donations were received from around the world to support the victims. Did we need "foreign aid?" Not really. We're the richest and one of the most generous (and frequently the most self-indulgent) nation in the world. We have the privilege of being able to help others. But following 9/11, it was turned around. A quote from the NY State Department of Finance: "Donations ranged from the change in a child's coin purse to multi-million dollar donations by America's leading corporations and foreign governments."

Currently, the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation has received donations from 23 foreign countries.

And this isn't just 9/11. Following Hurricane Andrew, the American Red Cross received donations from Kuwait ($1 Mil), England, Germany. Even Russia, with its economy in shambles at the time, offered to send volunteers and building materials to help.

The commonly held belief that everything goes out and nothing ever comes in is perpetuated by people with blinders on and arrogance in their souls. Human beings are human beings everywhere. We all share the pain of loss. And we all cry at tragedy.
