  1. in which state are you ?

why are you not in possession of your naturalization certificate? in which city did you get your naturalization ?

The Certificate of United States Naturalization guide was developed to help naturalized U.S. citizens complete and file their own requests for a copy of their Certificate of United States Naturalization. The "How to obtain a copy of your Certificate of United States Naturalization" is a step-by-step-guide that will help you file your request as efficiently and quickly as possible. You should only apply for a replacement certificate if your current certificate of naturalization is incorrect, lost, mutilated, or destroyed.

  2. Find out if you need the actual certficate.  There is a form called an I-600 which will provide that.  It is a farly lengthy process to get.

Since you already are a US citizen, apply for your passport and that will suffice in 99% of cases.

  3. Contact the INS where you lived, or where your dad gained his citizenship, they should be able to help you get a true copy.
