  1. It's no big deal, if you're living or working out of the area and can't serve, you might have to show proof but you can get out of it.

I just got out of it recently b/c I have two young kids and I can't leave them for 10 hours for me to serve on a jury!  If you can serve, you should, it's kinda cool (I did once in NY), but if you're not there, no biggie.  Just call sooner rather than later.

  2. you may have to reply by mail with a xerox of a current bill (phone, electric etc) to prove your new residence.  They will return the favor of sending you a letter excusing you from jury duty.

Be sure to ask that they remove your name from their rolls.

  3. Ignore it.

A jurist must live in the correct County to serve.

I recently ignored one when I moved from Galveston to Houston.

    Back in Galveston, now.

  4. ya ur probably going to go to jail for skipping out and moving have fun in prison

  5. Tell them you live in Houston, not California.  It's as simple as that.  They're not gonna make you fly to Cali for Jury Duty.

  6. No need to be nervous.  Just call the number and tell them your situation and most likely they will dismiss you from it.  Make sure you call do not just not show up.  If you just don't show up you can get into trouble!
