Ok so i had my HSG today and!!?

Question

my tubes were clear but i am bleeding and had some clotting is that normal? also i have heard it shouldn't hurt unless your tubes are blocked but mine hurt like crazy! whats next i was almost positive my tubes were blocked and that's why i was not getting pregnant. now i am lost!

I had it done several years ago.  My tubes were also clear but I do remember feeling quite crampy and having some spotting.  The procedure itself caused cramping also.  More than I expected.

If it doesn't stop in 24 hours or so, you should call and alert you doctor.

Some bleeding and clotting is normal . . . not clogged means no scar tissue and actual blockage . . .but "debris" can still build up a certain amount in the tubes.  If you were tense during the test, you will also have experienced more discomfort.    If it does not get better in a day or so, call your doctor.

I have a few friends who got pregnant within 3 months of the hsg, they swear that it just cleaned everything out despite not having an actual blockage!

As to what is next . . . that is hard to say, I was in your position and the fertility specialist found NOTHING wrong with myself and only a slightly below normal sperm count for DH . . . our diagnosis was "unexplained infertility" but we still moved onto treatments.
