Ok well i dont know much about cars and things so hopefully someone on here can help me out a little bit. Well i have a 2004 chevy cavalier and it's 2 front tires are really getting bad and so they need new ones. How much would it probably cost for 2 new front tires? Also the brakes are getting a bit bad too, and its a little noticable. Which problem would you take care of first? Please and thank you for helping me out!

  1. Well, without tires you won't GO anywhere, and without brakes you're risking NOT stopping. I think I'd go to Wal-mart and put on an inexpensive set of tires...free rotation for the life of them...then I'd just have a pad slap, unless the rotors are scored beyond recognition or so warped that you feel like your teeth are going to fall out when brakes are applied. Stop by Napa or another parts store and purchase the pads yourself, they will help you get the right ones, that way you don't have to pay a huge mark-up on the parts and the labor shouldn't be more then one hour of the labor rate to put the pads on.

    Good luck

  2. I would get both problems fixed at the same time they are both very important and if ignored can be very bad an accident or worse you could buy two tires from $75 to $130 depends how good a tire do you want.

  3. i would recommend the fixing the brakes it will probly be cheaper then tire and for the most part if a tire goes flat your stuck on the side of the road but if the brakes go out someone could get hurt or killed and i was just n a reak my falt not trucks but its not fun

o and you could probly got two new tires monted and ballanced for arround 200 depending on brand and where you go (dont let them sell you an allinment its not needed)

  4. Tires will run you about 200, they can check your breaks while they do the tires.
