Ok..so i read that 38 Million or so PPL watched Obama the other day??

Ummm...i always wondered...how do PPL know when that Many PPL are watching...i mean...how bout the PPL who just ahve normal T.V's is there a lil chip in the T.V that lets the Governement know what we're watching??..LOL..no really

Well what they do is station samplers all around the nation. Its the old we will pay you to answer a few simple questions mess you get in spam mail. Anyway they total up their estimate and announce that many watched. If they say 38 it is a possibility that 58 or 88 watched it. It's called a conservative number.

Nielsen ratings. The cable company can also determine a viewers viewing habit by tracking PPV (Pay Per View).

In the end Nielsen Ratings turn their surveys into percentages, therefore shows are ranked by number of viewers they garner each week.
