  1. The only thing I could find on it shows it disqualifying for women but not men.

  2. Yes, you can get into the military with HPV.  If you are a female, you should be tested at your next Pap. There is a huge risk of cervical cancer in females, so stay on top of it and ensure if you are diagnosed that you keep your regularly scheduled check-ups.

If you are a male, get tested and be responsible if you have it. Don't pass it on to women by having unprotected s*x and disclose it prior to engaging. It's not so harmful for males, but it can and does kill females.

80% of the population has it, so it's not very uncommon annymore.

    Good luck.

  3. Well, if you just have regular warts, then it will be okay.  But if you are talking about the extreme cases of HPV like genital warts or the lateral form of STD.  Definitely not!

NOTE: That soldier [answering above me] sure wants to sabotage your discharge!  It will be best that you report any medical importance to your MEPS; if not, that is just mere foolishness and strongly ill-advised!

  4. First off, get yourself checked by a private doctor.  If the test is clean, then you got nothing to worry about.  If it's positive, then get treatment.  I see no reason as to why this would hinder you from joining the service.  But like previously stated, what the Army don't know can't hurt you.  You could easily not mention it, go through all your training and then get a confidential STD test a year later.

  5. Yeah, as long as it isn't on your medical records. The military doesn't give you any STD tests when going through MEPS. They just ask you a million questions and give you an in depth physical. JUST DONT MENTION IT!!! Or you may sabotage yourself. Once you get in you can get treatment for it without question or repercussions.

Pardon me, but how can not declaring that you have HPV (a disease in which most people who have contracted it don't even show symptoms) interfere with your discharge? When I got out all I got was a mental evaluation from being deployed. It's true that if you lie about a knee injury or something it can hurt you on the long run but the military doesn't monitor your health as closely as one may think.

  6. I think its really upto what you want to do. HPV is like a cold to men hardly none get symptoms and it dosent affect them. Women on the other hand get screwed with HPV. I know women can't go with it but dosent say about men because like I said a bunch of men have it and don't find out till they change partners and the women get diagnosed. I mean you get go in without saying anything because its not going to do anything major but best thing is to get treated prior just because like everything you weren't born with it.
