Ok so i was going to pull the trigger on this trade bout a week ago.... good or bad?

Question

i was going to get brandon phillips, ichiro, and dice-k. he was going to get a-rod, carlos beltran, and cc. im in second place/first, me and the other guy keep flipping everyday, and he's in dead last. my second base really sucks, got weeks in there, so thats why i wanted phillips. i wanted some fast ppl fukudome is about my best sb stealer so far, phillips and ichiro, to get some stolen bases cuz i dont get to many of them. i've pretty much got the hr capability set thats why i was going to send a-rod and beltran, i've got ortiz and zimmerman yea i know the dl, got burrell, dye, matsui, russell martin, chipper jones, micheal young, and peralta all hitting the long ball pretty good so far. my pitching is so so. my rp are really good though marmol, rivera, soria, bj ryan and fuentes. now sp where it gets kinda iffy though big z, mike mussina, jurrjens, burnett and chamberlain. my league ended up vetoeing this trade after we agreed on it, did i get lucky??? were points only for scoring

burrell slowed down in a hurry, still good but his numbers are tricky. dye is not keeping it up, now way, mark my words. martin is not a home run hitter and chipper will loose a lot of games, another guy with good numbers but his value in ur team is not what i think u have him in. michael young is good but no hr hitter and peralta is nothing but a power hitter. zimmerman and ortiz are out. and i personally dont like zimmerman, and i heard that he could miss significant time. ortiz will be back by july apperently but u will have to wait a couple of weeks for him. phillips and ichiro are great players but none of them can replace a-rod. beltran... sure u can trade him and cc is really heating up, while dice k is a walk machine (dice- BB.)

with all the respect, i think u are looking at ur players numbers a little 2 much. remember that fantasy is about what players can do for u now and in the future and not what they have done so far. to be honest, i would be a little worried. u might not stay in 2nd if u face the top guys on ur league. i feel is no good. maybe if u put beltran and somebody for phillips so u can get ur 2nd baseman but no need to replace cc for dice k and i think ur getting a little greedy trying to get ichiro as well. would he do it i dont know but i wouldnt do it if i was u. try a 2 for 1 for his phillips since u need help in 2nd and forget about the other 2 guys. thats my opinion, i hope it helps.

You were lucky this trade was vetoed, it was lopsided and not in your favor.  Arod is the best fantasy player, he will be solid in the second half.  If you trade him now, you wasted a roster space on him for the first half of the year.  He was probably the first player drafted for a reason.  Beltran and Arod will get you a moderate amount of stolen bases if you are worried about that, plus I wouldn't really want anyone in that Seattle club.  That place is on the verge of a meltdown, it seems like everyone there is underperforming.

As far as Ortiz and Zimmerman for power...I predict 20 HR max between them the rest of the way.  I think you could easily get double that from Beltran and Arod.

If I was gonna do anything, I would try to see if someone would take Chipper for a mid-level secondbaseman, someone like BJ Upton.
