  1. Yes, they have sampoo in France, Italy and England.  And most hotels have hairdryers, but many hostels, and youth hostels (IYH) won't have those things.  But then, if you are staying in such places, you probably don't care that much about your hair.

If you want to bring a hairdryer, make sure it's dual voltage, and try to get an adaptor SET before you leave (England  is different from the rest of Europe).  They also have bidets in  most hotels there.  So, Light clothing if you're going in the summer.  A bit less casual than you would wear here, if you are thinking about blending in more, and definitely have your camera, charger, and a converter for those (if necessary - the charger SHOULD say on it if it works at 220v).  And most American cell phones don't work in Europe, so check on that as well.

  2. Two pair of jeans, a pair of shorts and/or a skirt.

A few T-shirts, a shirt with long sleeves and a sweater.

    A rainproof jacket.

Shoes you can walk in all day, every day, and a second pair of shoes or slippers to change into when you get to your hotel at night.

Underwear and socks for a week or two, (you can not carry much more than two weeks gear with you and still be able to move, so you better plan on doing one load of laundry every second week.)

A small toilet bag, take sample bottles rather than full size ones, but if you can bring the brands you use at home. You will find free shampoo in most hotels, hostels will be able to sell you one serving packets, but you will use different brands all the time, some people do better using just one brand.

Most places they have hair dryers, certainly in hotels, but also in hostels, although you might need to ask for them.

And bring a camera and spare memory (or film) and a notebook to make a journal, or buy a nice picture postcard every day and use those.

If you bring anything using electricity, check whether it needs a converter or just a plug adapter.

You best buy those before leaving for the airport, but the shops at the airport sell them too.

And of course, all needed paperwork, passports (with visa if needed,) tickets, trainpasses if you have bought them, travel insurance, your bank card (check that it is ready for use in Europe and let your bank know you will be using it oversees, it seems that American banks do need to hear that from you,) your credit card and your address list. (Also e-mail that to yourself, including an e-mail address list, and keep that in your yahoo mail so you can enter it while traveling.)

  3. nice clothes... cuz americans are pretty much slackin when it comes to fashion......europe is all about fashion....and they are always ahead of americans.... so

and yes europe does have shampoos, and hairdryers.... it's just like america, except its called europe
