  1. Yes, it should be placed in the refrigerator after opening. You need to cover it in someway or else bacterial will begin to grow and it will make your dog sick.

    Consider purchasing a plastic storage container for the food so that as soon as you open a can, you can place the contents in the container.

    Never keep soft food that has not been served to your pet if they have eaten off it or if it has sat out longer than 20 minutes. Again, bacteria forms, and your dog can get very sick.


  2. Yes, I do with my dog. Make sure you cover the can with plastic wrap or place in a plastic container with a lid.

  3. Sure. Just place can in plastic ziploc bag or totally cover and seal can with alumnum foil.  Should last at least 3 days.

  4. yeah sure... but your dog might not like it afterwards because its not as fresh and its cold.

  5. I think it depends on the inside of the can, as with people food. Many people don't store leftover canned food in the original can, but it's okay for a couple days in a can lined white. The metals make food taste funny after they are opened...don't think it's a safety concern but not sure. Your dog may not be as picky unless the food gets dried out.

    To avoid any potential problems, just assign a tupperware for this purpose (write the dogs name on it or something) and store leftovers in that. It will keep the food in better shape, as well as preventing the dog food from stinking up the fridge or other food in it. Use up one can before opening another for max freshness. It may not be as important to designate a certain bowl for this, if you have a dishwasher but that is really a personal choice.
