  1. wait...

    so what's the question?

  2. So here's something for you to consider.  You say you're bad in math.  That's your attitude toward this subject and toward yourself when it comes to math.  This mentality is then picked up on by others... perhaps that's why you feel you are treated like a failure.  Your attitude needs to change from negative to positive.  You'll have to forget all the left brain/right brain business... it's just information that many use as an excuse.  I doubt if you have worked three hours on mathematics every night, including your summers and weekends.  If you did, you would find that it gets easier the more you work at it.  I would begin a personal regiment of three hours a day.  That means less TV, movies, and video games.  Start with some excellent "Math for Dummies" books, www.alternativeeducationbible.com or plenty of self-help math books from your library.  I believe in you... you can achieve at math once the negative attitude is thrown away and you begin to say, "You know what?  I'm tired of Math conquering me... I'm going to conquer it!  I might not understand much now, but in just two weeks I'll make plenty of improvements.  In one year, I'll be doing so well I'll barely remember the troubles of the past."  Good luck to you.

  3. try seeking after school before class and or even at home tutoring, i personally hate math(i suck in it) and was very successful avoiding it all through high school something that i now regret seeing that i am currently in college, & cant pass a math class to save my life because things i shouldv already learned i dont know.

  4. Ashley, you are a very bright and passionate student. With all that talent and capability, your teachers want you to get everything you can out of your education.

It seems that it is their respect for your intelligence that makes them think you could be good at math along with your other subjects. I think you just haven't had the right math teacher; different people 'get it' when it is explained in different ways sometimes.

I think you should take advantage of any tutoring or other individual help that might be available. Even another student who is slightly more proficient than you might be a big help if you two study math together.

Yes, some people are more right- or left-brained, but people with a lot of gifts on one side or the other usually have more capability in the other side than most people have to begin with. So, be patient with yourself and take it one step at a time; I bet you're going to be good at math too one day!

For Judy: A rant is the perfect place to use run-on sentences. A good writer gives you the sense of the delivery with as many clues as possible.

  5. Are you sure of this?  For example, at my school I'd be your senior English teacher.  I would know NOTHING about your skills in math.  I would, however, know that you only used two punctuation marks in your entire rant.

Be sure you're presenting yourself as you want to be seen.
