So in theory could the collider also prove the existence of a micro- Einstein-Rosen bridge ( worm hole )?

  1. No, that bridge is a very specific warping of space-time that would require negative energy in the neck to hold it open. If there were no negative energy in the neck, it would instantly collapse to form two black holes.

It would be exceedingly unlikely that one would spontaneously form, and if one did it's unlikely the detectors (which are designed to detect charged particles) would even see it.

Please also don't confuse possible with probable. It's possible that a wormhole could form yes, just like it's also possible that a collision will result in the formation of a baby grand piano, or that you might win the lottery 10 times in a row. None of these events are very likely to happen though.

  2. Black holes are generally formed from eons of a stars life coming to a violent explosive end.  Even the mass of the sun when it ends is not predicted to be a black hole (but a white dwarf). The Hadro collider is in theory going to collide two or more electrons in hope that mass will "just pop into existence". The resulting event is "proof" that the big bang did happen.

  3. I watched a show on the science channel about that accelerator and they asked one of the scientists if the machine could create a black hole. She seemed pretty positive that that isn't going to happen.

  4. Miicro black holes have been made even before the LHC in the RHIC(Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider)! It's very difficult to warp spacetime in such a way that it would make a wormhole.
