Yes... the 4th is Naruto's dad

Right now Naruto doesn't need to know that, telling Naruto he's the son of the 4th Hokage would let him think he doesn't have to train that hard because he would think he has some sort of natural talent being that his dad was the 4th, however, Naruto has ZERO talent and needs to train twice as hard as a normal shinobi to be strong....

Its no coincidence that Kakashi became Naruto's teacher after all Kakashi was the 4th's student.

Honestly though I thought Kakashi or Pervy Sage would take Naruto and raise him after his parents died, that was really messed up that he didn't have any 1.

The 4th was a gr8 shinobi but he wasn't born with any special gift, everything he had he gain through hard training & bleeding, he wasn't like itachi therefore for Naruto to be gr8 like his dad he has to train twice has hard and suffer & endure the pain, and then he will truly surpass his dad.

Naruto will learn that his dad was the 4th but not until the time is right,  and Yes he's stupid but he's not the only 1 who doesn't know.

im guessing its because they don't want naruto to think that his father didn't like him because he sealed the nine tailed fox in him

I'm pretty sure the villagers know about the 4th being his father.

What I think is because the fact that the villagers disliked him so much they don't like the fact that their leader, 4th Hokage is the father of a boy who has the strongest tailed beast in him.

People don't want to tell Naruto that because they don't like him. He did tell the villagers to promise him never to treat him as a monster...

but the fact that the people did.

I know that someone is going to have to tell Naruto somehow.
