  1. The Pearl is a classic, one that I have not read for a very long time.  Because it is such a classic,  and is so often assigned reading, there are numerous free on line resources that can help you with your study of this novel, most of which analyze the story, discuss themes, quotes and symbolism and other literary devices, and give character sketches.  If you do a search you will find many helpful resources.  Additionally hundreds of questions have been asked here on Y!A about The Pearl so do a search for it in the Yahoo Answers search window and you will find lots of Q’s and A’s that should help you.

  2. its all about greed and how it changes people's perceptions even the holder. it changes the fisherman.

it was best just throwign it away as the material thing dont create a positive outcome-

the priest although he was a  godly man even was affected.

  3. "Things are not always as they seem."

    ---

The priest *seemed* very holy and good, yes? Yet when he came to the door of Kino's house, his so-called "praising" words seemed a bit degrading and hinted slightly of greed. He also minutely asked for Kino to donate the pearl to the church; as you can recall earlier, when news spread through town about the pearl, the priest remembered some repairs needed for the church.

    ---

The pearl buyers *seemed* fair - and they did pull off their teamwork very smartly - but they were merely just attempting to cheat him to receive a great bargain. Firstly, the leader of the pearl buyers suggested to Kino that the pearl was worthless and should be sold at a low price. Kino doubted the man's words, and therefore, more pearl buyers were brought in. The other pearl buyers then examined the pearl and tossed it off, saying that it was indeed worthless.

    ---

(I don't know what you mean about "the last thing in the story" since the phrase is too general. I'll answer it the best I can, though.)

The "Pearl of the World" *seemed* to bring great fortune to Kino and his family, but it only brought misfortune and pure misery. Greed and evil took over the town because of the pearl, and because of that, Kino suffered some injuries, committed a murder, and lost his house, boat, and sun, ultimately tearing his family and life apart.
