Ok this is really weird to me. Im a huge muscle car freak i found a '68 Camaro..with a 205 engine? is it rare?

the rest of the story:

me and a friend were quading back in my woods. and we got to a place were we found liek 20 old cars. we stoped and looked at them looked for engine parts we could use. when i came upon a '68 camaro body. as figured the engine was removed all but the starter. that or ate by the bees in it..haha... but it had a logo one the drivers side front panel that said '205' i looked trough all the books i have and couldnt find anything about a 205 engine. did i find something rare?

Not sure what the 205 on the badge means. Not a car restoration buff but am a Chevy performance engine builder and there is no 205 engine. Not sure if that was a package for the car or what.

The badge you were looking at was a 250 badge.The 1968 camaro has a L22 250 cid 155 HP 235 lbs of torque engine.This is a inline 6 cyl with a one barrel carb.Yes these are a true collectors dream car.Best of luck.

I say that it was the "250" badge as the first answer is right about the engine options for the 68 Camaro. there was some companies that could make badges for whatever you wanted and some deranged bodymen have been known to rearrange the #s or letters of some badges to make them say some silly stuff. this is true and I could snap a picture of one that has a funky one stuck to his tool box!

I'm not sure where the "badge" came from, but the 68 camero would have come with a 230 ci (strait six), 307 ci, 327 ci, a few late production 350 ci, and the rare (but out there somewhere) 302 ci (Z-28).

I was a small block fan back then, but if memory serves me there might have been a 396 ci available. The 305 ci / 5.0 L was a late 70's or early 80's thing.

I think you might have misread it . In 68 Camaros came with a 153 ci 4cyl,230 ci 6 cyl, 250 6cyl, all the rest were V8's , 302,307,327,350,&396  Maybe it was 307?
