Question:

Ok...this may seem silly but I need to know what to do about my nose?

Right...well everyone hates something about themselves and in my case its my nose. I was lucky enough to inherit my Dads nose and it really puts me down and has crushed all my self confidence.

I'm only 16 and for the past year I've been secretly saving up for surgery on it. My parents don't know and I'm worried that they'll think I'm being stupid or vain for caring so much. I've tried to ignore it but whenever I do a nasty comment brings me crashing back down to earth again. It makes me constantly depressed yet I've never told anyone and usually cover any bad feelings I have with a false smile.

What should I do? I feel foolish for asking but I guess I'm just too much of a wimp to ask any of my friends or family. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks x

  1. PIERCE IT!!

  2. Being so young, any kind of surgery can have serious complications. I think you should give your nose a chance anyways. It is probably very distinct and makes you you. There was this actress, Jennifer Gray (Dirty Dancing anyone?) who had a nose job, and it changed her distinct face to something, well, common. You should learn to love yourself the way you are, or you'll just find something new to fixate on. Good luck!

  3. you have to tell somebody. you cant just save money for a surgery without anybody knowing!! surgeries have side affects, you know. you need to tell your mom or your dad, who ever you feel more comfortable with. and im sure your nose is fine!! dont let anybody tell you other wise!! you say that your self-esteem is crushed because of it?? im telling you (i know its hard) dont let anybody tell you that you are not as perfect as you are. you are YOU and you shouldnt change that. i know that ppl can say mean stuff but does that really matter?? (yes, now it does) but stay true to yourself. and one of the worst things that you can do if cover up your feelings with a fake smile. plz talk to some one. you owe yourself that much. i hope i helpd. (and i saw your pic and what are you talking about??? your nose looks absolutely fine) dont let any body get that satisfaction that they made you change for them. its YOUR face. good luck:)

  4. First thing I'm going to say here... your nose is not "wrong" in any way, it is part of who you are, therefore an incredibly unique asset.

Judging by what others look like to determine who you should look like, or be, is wrong in my opinion.

Personally, I will never get plastic surgery because I see my flaws as things that make me who I am and I've learned to live with them.

Another main reason I wouldn't do it is that surgery is scary stuff, I mean one slip up and you could look FAR worse then ever before...

Not to mention how expensive it is!

It's a pretty big risk to take I think...

Good luck dear, and I don't mean to scare you. =)
