  2. I doubt it. Pre 9/11, the US had an open border with Canada for many years.

    I'll check it out.

    EDIT:

After researching it, I can't see anyone who was actually turned back on a tightrope, but there seems to be one case that could have sparked this urban legend.

Henri Rechatin was a professional stuntman and daredevil. He performed several stunts across the falls in the early seventies, but was repeatedly denied permission by the Canadian parks commission to perform a rope walk. In 1974, he decided to do it without permission. He, his wife, and an untrained motorcylist started at the American side early in the morning, before anyone arrived at the falls. Rechatin balanced on the driver's back and suspended his wife at the end of a pole as the driver drove the motorcycle across the greased Aerocar cable over the falls. They stopped once they reached the Aerocar, 15 feet from the Canadian side. Rechatin got down and pulled the motorcycle a few feet, then helped his wife and the driver into the car.  The three then waited until the ride operator showed up for work that morning.

All three were arrested, but charges were dropped.

  3. I would say no....technically all you need now is a drivers licence to get across.....and before they didnt have such tough restrictions

    MYTH
