  1. The worst thing you can do is try to put on a 'false' persona of being what and who you're not.  However, being attentive to others, not looking sad-faced and good listening/conversation skills should have you fitting right in.

What sort of people do you think always get the comment: "They are great at conversation!"  Answer:  The person who looks the person who is speaking in the eye, pays attention and shows that they are listening!  Yes, the best listener (active listening, showing them you are listening by maybe nodding, or asking them to clarify what they meant -- even "Oh, so do you mean the McDonalds in x*x suburb or on the corner of x*x and XXXX?" - just to show you are listening actively)

Be yourself, don't drone on and on about your background or problems - add to the conversation if what you have to say is either relevant to the conversation at hand, or interesting.  Try smiling and just enjoying being there and you won't look out of place, even if you don't have loud or zany things to contribute, not everyone can be the 'loud' one, or 'the clown' or the 'leader'.

Be yourself and enjoy rather than stress about it.

  2. Just be yourself, dont put so much thought into this, it is just lunch,....if they are acting stupid and immature, dont join it dont act like its funny if you dont think so, if something is funny laugh, if they talk about a topic you are interested in , join in....just be you. I think as long as you are an open nice person, nothing could go wrong!!
