  1. I have owned 3 different Kenwood mono amps. Two were the 2007 model Kenwood 500 rms monoblocks, I thought they were decent and picked them up for $110 a piece. I then bought a Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X1R amp in april to power my Rockford Punch P3 12s. I ran it at 1 ohm (its rated at 1200 rms at @ ohms, so by Ohm's Law its supposed to produce more than its 1200 rms @ 2 ohms). I felt that it was really putting out maybe 700 rms...I had liked Kenwood amps before then because they were cheap, clean, and had decent power. But now I am done with Kenwood forever with everything but headunits. I now have enough money to buy the Rockford amps I wanted, and am more than satisfied. Rockford also never overrates their amps because they all come with birthsheets displaying the exact rms @ 14.4 volts.

  2. i have two of the kac-x1r amps hooked to a kenwood excelon head unit powering 4 kicker solo l7 12's and they sound amazing
