Wow!  This is like the fourth blue jackets fan here today!!

As a Rangers fan, I'm not pissed about it.  I really liked Tyutin, and came to grips with backman being on my team, so he'll be missed... but we desperately needed a winger and Zherdev is great.

Think of it as... Tyutin is a young, solid, good defenseman who will definitely help you.  And Backman is a young player who will give the puck away and lead to goals against.

That was a bad trade on the Jackets part. they get rid of their second best scorer ( maybe first) even though they are dead last in scoreing last year. for two dman that are no better then a 2nd d pairing. hawson screwed the pooch on this one.

Tutin's good but they gave up to much. A better deal would be Frestiv for Tyutin straight up

sorry but as a ranger fan i am glad that the blue jackets got rid of them. i am kinda sad about tyutin leaving because i thought that he was a good young d-man that was going to get better. but i really am glad they got rid of backman he sucked. i was excited when i heard about Zherdev and i watched all of his high lights and he looks really awesome and stuff. some of his moves were amazing. i watched some on fritsche and he looks good too. i am glad that slather made some good moves today but letting avery go kinda cancels it out. sorry about taking them.

I am!! My goodness, what the f*ck!!?? Zherdev was a beast, and Fritsche was as well.

However, we do gain a positive with this trade, we have a decent defensive corp now.

Commodore, Klesla, Tyutin, Backman, Hejda, Rome, and a few others.

It was not one of Columbus's best trades, but all we need to do now is sign a veteran that can put the puck in the net, and maybe push some of our younger guys more, perhaps bring Filatov into the NHL this season, and we can still put together a charge for the post season. Chicago and Detroit are loaded, Columbus has to take the upperhand against the Blues and Predators in the Central Division.
