I have never had any type of hamburger/steak/cheeseburger.

I was raised not to eat red meat.

But I used to eat turkey and sometimes chicken.

And I recently decided to go full vegetarian,

Any tips, recipes, good food choices?

Thanks,

Alissa

  1. Y U WANNA TURN VEGAN?i am just asking sorry if i seemed rude i do not want to be disrespectful touin any way!

  2. Good for you girl!  I'm 15 and have been vegetarian for 2 months.   Unlike you I did have to give up red meat.  First of all, don't do it to be cool, or unique or awesome, do it for a real, lasting cause.  I did it for the environment, but as I started studying, I learned I was in it for my health, and for the animals too.  I love wraps.  Look up recipes for wraps, or you could just improvise (tomatoes, rice, beans, jicama, peppers, whatever) in pita bread or my favorites; sun dried tomato flatbread or spinach flatbread.  You can eat them cold or warm and they are very transportable (school lunch!) everyone will be jealous because they will be wolfing down a pile of compressed cow corpse with ketchup and lettuce between 2 buns!

  3. ooh.

    boca burgers are really good.

even though I'm not a vegetarian NOW, I used to be one.

and I have friends who are vegetarians.

oh and if you go out to eat, Burger King has Veggie burgers so you wont be pressured to eat meat.

    hopefully that was helpful.

    =^_^=

  4. I think some websites have food charts for vegetarians. if you don't eat the right foods, you could risk having low amounts of (ex vitamin A, B, C, etc or protein) and that can endanger your health.

try finding a good food chart for vegetarians to keep track of your eating and if you're eating right.

  5. mmmmm im a vegetarian tempeh tofu theyre are lots of fake meat i even saw fake eggs just buy morning  star  prouducts they are yummy or go to a health food store and youll find loads of stuff

  7. if you like burgers alot, try eating vege burgers...i know they sound gross but if you eat them with ketchup, they are accually really good

  8. Try morning star veggie burgers or any of their other products. They are all delicious..but just a little pricey.

Just eat a lot of vegetables...don't eat too much junk which can sometimes happen when you're a vegetarian.

(trust me i know) And make sure to take daily vitamens or some kind of supplement for the nutrients you aren't getting!

    good luck!

  9. really dumb idea,  you need meat to keep strong and maintain energy and dont be sad about eating animals , they eat animals too  but if thats your decition google it

  10. I'm proud of yoou. Buy a vegetarian cook book and cook some stuff up in there that you like. And whenever you go to eat something read the labels to see if any kind of meat product is in it and stuff :).

  12. Most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals but still have a lower B12 status than recommended. It is strongly advised that everyone take a B12 supplement, especially vegetarians.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies are all that you need to eat a healthy vegetarian diet.

  13. Tempeh is the yummiest fake meat of them all, delicious.

You might like Seitan too, it has a "beefy" flavor.

If you eat all your fruits and veggies and get protein via beans, nuts, seeds, legumes, soy or almond milk, fake meats or many other things, and just vary up your diet- you don't need supplements except B12.

happycow.net can help you find veg restaurants and groceries in your area

All my recipe sources are vegan- veganomicon (book), The Joy of Vegan baking (book) veganagogo (website & podcast) but if you want just vegetarian google or amazon can help you I'm sure
