Okay, I just received a check from this Ardoin vs. AMEX thing for a whopping $1.25. What's it for?

There'a a possibility that you overpaid your balance. Since overpaying your balance won't increase your limit, the card company will give you the extra back.

ie) you paid $101.25 instead of just $100

Secondly, it could be an interest adjustment refund. Perhaps you were incorrectly charged interest and they found the error and were honest enough to refund it to you.

If you really want to be sure, flip your credit card over, dial customer service and ask them!
