Question:

Okay, anyone know where to get a PAPER map of Italy?

Hi,

I asked one a day or two ago about maps of Italy. All the answers were great, but I am finding it too hard to look around at what I want to see in only the area of my computer screen.

So, I need to know if anyone know where I can order or get an ACTUAL map of Italy -- quite detailed, so I can see all the small towns too -- I want to be able to look and see where things are that I read about in comparison to the places I already know where they are.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated. If you know how much they would cost from the sources you tell me, could you please fill me in on that too? I need one that is not too expensive, but am willing to pay to get a physical one I can look at whenever.

Thank you!

  1. I've bought the paper Michelin maps for different regions off of Amazon.com.  They are also sometimes available at your local Barnes&Nobles/Borders.  They are about $8 each.  You can also get the whole country on one paper map, but that will be less detailed.

I also have a spiral bound book of all the Michelin maps for Italy.  It's similar to the "Mapsco" series you see in the United States.  That book was about $20.  I found that at my local Borders store.

  2. you can find maps of italy (and virtually any other country in the world!) at any bookstore.....try borders or barnes & noble for starters.  you can order paper maps online at www.amazon.com

  3. Barnes and Noble/Borders have travel sections that come with tour books/maps - try them.

Also - many of the airports once you arrive in Italy have a tourist infomation area and you can get one there thats quite detailed

  4. You can try at your local travel agencies - they might actually have some for free - your local AAA office as well.  You could try emailing or contacting the official tourism offices in Italy - a quick search on the internet will bring those up pretty quick and they might send you one free.  Otherwise you could check out some used bookstores and try to find some old National Geographic magazine on Italy - they come with free maps sometimes - although this could take a while lol.

  5. Try the AAA - auto club has everything
