I was in a car accident about two weeks ago. Someone threw a rock off of an overpass and it went through the window. I was sitting right there, and lo and behold, got hurt. I had glass in my eye and a bump on my head.

A week after the accident, my ear started to hurt really bad. I didn't think much of it because since I was younger, I've always had a problem with earaches/ear infections. Then the pain become unbearable, so I went to the doctor. She said it looked very inflamed, and it was possibly due to debris in the ear.

I'm on antibiotics for the ear as well as drops. They can't really diagnose it, but I'm being treated for an inner and outer ear infection. The pain has definitely subsided. I don't have to take 3 Motrin and 2 Tylenol just to feel normal anymore. However, I CANNOT hear out of the ear. It is SO uncomfortable. It feels so clogged and I don't know what to do =/ it's felt like this since the ear has been hurting. The cloggy-ness just doesn't seem to go away. I've felt embarrassed over the past week because I can't hear out of it, just very faintly, and I've had to ask people to repeat themselves. The doctor is aware of this, but like I said, said it was due to inflammation.

Any suggestions?

  1. You poor thing!

This happens to me when my sinuses get inflamed the liquid from them moves to my ear, I just try to sleep on the opposite side of my head and bear with it.

    Get better soon.
