  1. The first thing you need to do is contact an agency that has a China adoption program.  (We are future China adoptive parents, and we plan to use http://www.CWA.org ourselves).

You will fill out an application for the agency.  Once accepted, you will begin what is called the "paperchase".  This is the gathering of official documents that are required-the most important is the homestudy (read below), but while you are in the process of your homestudy you can work on the other papers.  It generally takes approximately six months to complete the homestudy and paperchase.

The homestudy is done either by a licensed homestudy agent with your agency, or if your agency is not local to you then by a licensed homestudy agent in your state.  They will interview you and your husband (only married couples may adopt from China, and you must have been married for a certain amount of time), you will be questioned about why you want to adopt, your finances, your criminal history (if any), your education, your plans for the child (education, etc).  They will also want letters of reference from friends or community members written on your behalf.  It is not as bad as it sounds, though!  They are not looking for perfection, only trying to be sure that a child is placed in a loving home where they will be properly taken care of.

Once your homestudy is approved and all of the documents are gathered, the agency will forward them to the CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs, they handle ALL Chinese adoptions).  You will receive a log in date (just when they officially log your dossier-your paperwork-in).  Right now, it is taking approximately two years for a referral to arrive.  Once you receive a referral, you travel to China usually 6-8 weeks later.  One or both parents may travel, but if both do not travel you have to complete the adoption process in the USA (additional time and expense, whereas if both parents travel the child is a citizen upon arriving in the USA).  The trip is approximately two weeks long.

Of course, the first thing you will want to do is visit an agency website to make sure you meet all of the requirements for adopting from China (there are many, regarding marital status, number of children already in the home and their ages, age, health, income, etc. etc.).

You might consider the special needs program-these children may be older, have health issues (you can specify what you are willilng to accept and some are minor or already corrected).  This process MAY be slightly quicker and cost a little less.  Inquire with the agency.

The average child referred from China is a little girl, around one year of age.

  2. search under google for adoption centers in china

here's a page that might help that i just added

  3. get pregnant from a chinese guy or marry Mia Ferrel....

  4. You have to be married for at least 5 years and you have to be 35 years old to adopt from China.  You also have to go to China for a month and live there in order to get your child.  Go to an adoption agency or Google China adoptions on the Internet.  You have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and get a home study done by CPS and you can't have no more then 4 biological children in your home and you have to have a bedroom for the girl.  Only girls are up for adoption in China unless you take a Special needs child and then you could possibly get a boy.  In China girls are put into orphanages as soon as they are born because a girl isn't seen beneficial to the family.  A girl is seen as a burden and it's a boy's job to take care of his parents when they get old.  It will take anywhere from 9 months to 2 years to adopt from China.
