okay, so I'm about 5'5, 150 pounds, and a size 7/8. Usually when I get my boards I choose by height, buuut now I'm buying one off the computer on an online board shop. So, i need a little help.

My options are 134, and 137 ... should i get one of those? (if so, which one) or should I wait until more are in stock ?

  1. Height and weight don't so solely determine the size snowboard you should ride, but it gives us a range of board to choose from. Every snowboard has a desired rider weight range. Ideally you want your weight to fall into the center of the weight range. For example, the snowboard I ride is a 157. The weight range on my board is from 140-180 pounds. I weigh 160lbs, which falls perfectly in the board's weight range. Weight is more important than height; height just helps compliment your weight. It is more important to have a snowboard designed for your weight, than having one in between your chin and nose.

For your weight you should be safe in the 152-155 range

  2. I've snowboarded for many years, all park riding..

If you'll be riding park Get a board that is around your chin height maybe even a slight bit shorter..

And a longer board for more free riding..

I'm 5'1 and This year i rode a 140 rome detail, which was a little on the big end for handrails and park for me, but it was okay, those two other boards will be to short for you i'd go with a 144-148 probably for your size!

Edit- what seirra snow said, is WAY to big of a board for you. Do not go that big, you'll regret it, unless you are just riding around on trails a big board will be way worse in park and such, short boards are better. to be sure just go to snowboard shop and find a board that is about your chin or slightly lower and choose that size or right around there..

  3. Way way too short... Unless you are just freestyling and then it's still short.. I'd say~145 but it is a thing of preference and depends on your riding style
