Okay, so there's this girl in my french class, she's an exchange student from Germany and she is here all year. We were talking and I think we really hit it off. We have only talked 10 minutes or so, but we got along great, and normally this is the point I would get a phone number or ask to hang out outside of school. But I really don't know much about German culture or if moving this quick would typically be "acceptable" where she's from. Also, if it matters, she's 16 and I'm 15. Not much difference at our school, but I don't know about elsewhere, particularly in Germany.

So, is there anything I should really know before pursuing this any more?

  1. The main diffenence between "dating-culture" is, that there is no such thing in german culture. It depends very much on the persons what "happens next", maybe she has already a boyfriend, have you asked her that?

It is okay, to make the next steps by yourself as long a she's comfortable about it.
