I'm thirteen, in my first year of high school, and using a school of correspondence. I've gotten A's on everything else, so I shouldn't worry about the one B I got right?

  1. Its nothing to worry over as long as you know you are trying your very hardest.

  2. Having straight As in high school is an accomplishment by itself. A B doesn't mean you've failed. It only means try harder next time. I was too conscious about my grades when I was also your age. I was the Salutatorian in my class in HS and a consistent honor student in university. But sometimes I regret it. Why? I can't remember enjoying my high school years. All I did was study and be the best in class. I hope you won't let your youth pass you by. Excel at the same time enjoy. You can't turn back time.

  3. I know how you feel, i tend to freak out about that but it should be alright because you have straight A's in everything else.

  4. Worry about it for what reason?

I don't think you should dismiss it altogether, but I also don't think it should be something to panic about. Figure out where your weaknesses are and work on improving your skills.

  5. If you are confident that you did your best work......you are all good.  If you know in your heart you didn't.........well great, now you have a goal for next grading period.  Still good!

Get some rest.  Tomorrow is a new day.

  6. YOu should not worry about getting a B. That is still a job well done. If you want to strive for better then take a look at what was missed and let it be a lesson learned on how to improve next time. There is not sense in worrying or being embarrassed about it. There is always room for improvement in all of us in all things. WE just strive to be our best and that is all anyone can ever ask of you!

  7. No, you shouldn't worry about it!!! Just do your best and if your best is a B, then that's great. Not everybody can be good at everything. If you've always gotten As in math before, just keep studying and DON'T WORRY!

  8. It depends on how you look at it.  A B is still an above average grade and you can do two things...be happy that you're above average or view it as you have room to improve and do something about it.  Complacency versus ambition.  It's up to you.  If you're willing to settle, a B is not so bad, but if you want to be your best, work for the A.

  9. Don't be so hard on yourself :)  Perfection is an unrealistic goal.. if you are perfect (straight A student, for example), what more is there to work towards?

There is nothing at all wrong with a B.

LOL 8Track.. you even made ME feel better.  I hate math :p

  10. Girl, don't freak out! Some kids would be lucky just to get a B! I just think that whatever subject you got a B in is probably your weakest subject, and hey, there's always going to be something you're not very good at (although a B is still very good). Don't put pressure on yourself, just work on improving in that class. =]

  11. No, it is not stupid at all, but at the same time, it is nothing to worry about. And by that I mean, let it motivate you instead of letting it bother you.

Look back at the work and find where your mistakes were. Did you miss problems due to simple computation errors, or were there concepts you thought you understood but did not?

Make that "b" serve you in the sense of motivating you to be more attentive to your work.

My daughter is the same way, she is a math whiz and whenever she had assignments or exams with a lower than expected grade, at first she would be really hard on herself, but she eventually learned to slow down, double back and check her work.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting all "a's"

Some people, myself and my daughter included, are just wired that way and IT IS OK.

Don't let it become an obsession, just let it be a true reflection of what you are capable of.

Bet your next math grade will be an "a"

    good luck!

    :)

  12. I am going to answer this, and hopefully none of my friends will answer this, except of course Athee, who is very wise. I am considered very smart by some. Very ,very smart by others. I have a Master's Degree. And you know what? I am horrible in math. Albert Einstein failed math. Does that make you feel better?

  13. You're  a little young to be an Obsessive-Compulsive.

    Correspondence????

Math is also  the easiest subject to deal with because it's either Right or Wrong. So it's the easiest for a Straight A gal like yourself to correct.

Find out where you went astray and you'll see 2 and 2 will make 4 the next time around. Not to worry.

Only the Liberal Racist Affirmative Action plan puts nit wits into Medical and Law Schools based on Race not ability or intelligence.

Find what the weak area is and concentrate on it.

  14. Yeah,it is!
