Okay, so I heard of all these stuff... so what IS beautiful?

Fine, the studies all show beautiful people make more money, get more attention, yada yada. Teachers pay more attention to good-looking students, etc.

but isn't that all an opinion? what IS beautiful? How do you judge if someone's ugly?

In Psychology we learned that the more symetrical a face was the more likely someone would find them attractive, however Denzel Washington is c**k eyed and women fall head over hills over the guy. So Personality plays a minor roll in the equation.

Agreeing with Keith, but adding that beauty is something that makes you feel uplifted and comfortable just being in the presence of that beautiful thing. For some, it's a personality thing. For others, it's a physical attractiveness thing. For everybody though, it's a personal opinion.

It's kind of subconscious.  We're attracted to symmetry!!  Symmetrical faces/bodies are more beautiful!  There can be something slightly off, but you can't pinpoint it, and that's what makes them look a little less attractive.

Simple as that. What's beautiful to one, may be ugly to another.  You can't define beauty in my opinion.

On the runways there are 70lb girls, fashionistas call beautiful.

On the streets we see 170 lb curvy girls, to some they are beautiful.

It is determined by every single individual. We all have our own take on it. There's no definition. Its a feeling, a thought for someones outer and inner self.

"Beautiful" is that aspect of a person that causes you pleasure. Generally, pleasure will be that thing that provides what you want. In the case of "sexually beautiful", it is any aspect of the opposite s*x that will help you procreate - this is built into the human mind. In terms of intellectually or emotionally beautiful, it is again a trait that assists and supports you to be stronger and hence procreate. Although we may not be thinking of procreation in day-to-day life or when assessing someone to be beautiful, it is a fundamental part of our makeup to assist the human race (and animals) to continue to exist. Therefore, people will always want to be with "beautiful" people because they are strong and can assist sexually, emotionally, physically or intellectually (to procreate).
