I have about ten breeds that I would like, and if you have a specific breed that you think is better that is not on my list, please state why you think it would be the better breed. So, here are my breeds and the turn-aways and the, er, turn-to's...

In no specific order:

1) Border Collie

Good: Very friendly, very active, will go out any time, will do agility, fly ball, racing, etc, very cute(I know it doesn't really matter about looks, but... :)

Bad: Hyper, maybe too active, need about 4 walks a day when puppies, 2-3 walks a day when adults

2) Aussie!

Good: Very cute, active but not too active, most of the time friendly, though they do have a tendency to be mean, not sure if it is completely true

Bad: Possibly mean. That's all I can think of

3) Shetland Sheepdog

Good: Very, very, very, very adorable and active, good with other pets, friendly dogs

Bad: Have to groom them SO much, sometimes mean, maybe too active?

4) Pomeranian

Good: Very cute, very friendly, good size, dont need tons of food

Bad: Very hyper, need lots of grooming

5) Pembrokeshire Welsh Corgi

Good: Very cute, good size, dont nee tons of food, very playful, dont have to walk very far

Bad: Cant walk very far, prone to back infections

6) Chihuahua

Good: Cute, friendly, quite active, just the right size to play with my kitten, dont need much food

Bad: Maybe too small, might get squarshed by someones foot, or by playing with Missee, my littl Border Collie / American Eskimo

7) Cavelier King Charles Spaniel (Boy, thats long... Howabout just CKC Spaniel instead :p)

Good: Cute, loyal, lap dog, friendly, playful

Bad: Not active enough, at least I dont think so...

8) Eurasier

Good: Loyal, friendly, not known for barking a lot, cute, strong bond with whole family, non-agressive, calm

Bad: Some hunting instinct

9) Great Dane

Good: Cute, friendly, good watchdog

Bad: Very large, eats a TON

10) Rottweiler

Good: Good guard dog, friendly if brought up right, cute but fierce looking

Bad: Most people would be afraid of her, eats a lot, might bite if mad at us

Well, that is it. If you have another breed for me, please do the same thing with the good and bad things about the breed

Luv,

Moon Wolf

  1. there all great dogs you've listed, but i really am one for big dogs no lap dogs big bouncy things lol

i like the sound of the great dane but they can have heart problems when they get older.

you put down Rottweiler there nice and cute but can get really fat and with that comes arthritis so dobermans are better (i used to have one).

Rottweilers wont bite you unless you give them reason to but you do have to show them who's boss right from the moment it meets you so you would have to take it to training lessons etc.

the best bread of dog ive had was a german Shepperd cross grey hound she was amazing really fast and did what you told her.

okay then so to your list:

collies need lots of exercise and can get into trouble if not occupied at all times (their intelligent mind goes overload!)

Aussie about the same as a collie

Shetland sheepdog great but need walk's of walks and there fur will get matted and will malt every where

pomerainia not a real dog! dont get lap dogs you walk them round the sofa and thier gone for the rest of the day!

corgis sorry they just look stupid!!! (sorry :P)

Chihuahua their very yapppy dogs can be a bit funny with other pets (your cat)

kcc spanail prone to heat probs, athritis, and spine probs just one big mediacal vets bill! but are great pets fluffy lil lap dogs!

Eurasier there fur gets every where one big fur ball!

  2. I have a cavalier king charles spaniel. She is the best dog I have ever had! She is sweet to everybody, including other dogs, she never barks, she is beautiful, and the breed is known for maintaining their looks throughout their life time, which is usually very long. About them not being active, this is not necessarily true. Since she was a puppy, I have taken my dog on regular walks, played tug-a-war and fetch frequently with her, and taken her on runs. She is seven years old and still extremely active. Another great characteristic of the breed is that unlike other breeds, you can leave them home alone without having to worry about your furniture being ripped into shreds. Over the course of my dogs life, we have gotten two cats, a rabbit, and many other dogs have stayed at our house. She has never growled, bitten, or showed bad behavior during any of these periods, and in fact, has been extremely nice to the other pets. The few negative characteristic about this breed are that to keep their health and looks outstanding, some people advise you to provide them with more expensive food, they need to be brushed and bathed regularly, and in their later life, it is common for them to have minor eye problems. This is because, as I'm sure you know, their eyes bulge out of their heads, causing them to get dry and outside molecules can get in. For my dog, we needed to give her eye drops for a few weeks to prevent her eyes from getting so dry. She is back to normal now. Hope this helps!
