Question:

Okay, this is probably a stupid question, but where exactly is the fan on my laptop?

I have a toshiba.

I use it laying on my bed alot and it gets quite hot.

  1. Hi-I also have a toshiba laptop. The fan is on the bottom. Mine used to get so hot it would shut itself off so the computer does not get damaged. What I did was buy a little stand that the computer sets up on.

  2. The fan is on the bottom - the exhaust is on the back

    Don't keep it on your bed. If you are - then put it on something non-flexible like a board or big book so that you can see the regular clearance underneath the machine

    Once in a while blow into the fan (with an air can if you can) - so that it is cleared of dust.  That tends to heat up the machine and slow it down. Blow into the exhaust at the back too

  3. Look on the bottom where there are little slit like openings. You should go somewhere like Wal Mart and get a laptop stand. That's what I always use because it'll get very hot quickly when it's lying on something especially like a bed. The stand that I got from Wal-Mart is made by Rubbermaid and was about $15.
