What do you mean he haven't done anything?  He won Rookie of the Year coming directly from High School.  How many players have done that?  He set a bunch of youngest record including points.  Took his team to the Final after his fourth season.  What more do you want from a guy?

King James... like the holy bible. Romans King James Edition. its just a nickname. Thats where it comes from. I know how its meant as a marketing tool. like he's a king of the court. he's a really good player but nicknames are just nicknames. i mean 'Magic' Johnson didn't actually like saw a woman in half or pull a rabbit out of his jersey while throwing a no look pass... even though he probably could. MJ hated the nickname 'Air', but it is a marketing tool. Hakeem the Dream... David Robinson or known as the "Admiral" ...  Shaq and his nickname of the month club Shaq Diesel... Shaq Daddy... Big Aristotle... and so on. Really just let him play his career out if he wins rings then it KING JAMES... if not its COURT JESTER JAMES!

Like Nick C said, it originated from a version of the Holy Bible called the "King James Version". And Lebron's last name is James and he's a wonderful ball player so why not call him King James. We know he's not really a king I mean its just for marketing.

It was a nickname that he had from high school.  i agree that LeBron needs to work on his jump shots (along with his free throws).  But he's young and if he develops that part of his game- wow... he's already a tough guy to guard.

hes called the KING because hes one of the greatest ever. and he does lot more than scoring. he caried a crappy team to the finals on his own, he can pass like crazy and can grab 10 boards on any given night.

His jumpshot is not the best but it has gotten better every year and I think his three point shot isn't great but better than previous year. Lebron in on a team where it 5 on 1 basically.  Defense collapse on him and his teamates miss shots.

He almost averages a triple double, besides that he has helped his teammates, he is a great leader, and one of the best in the entire league at only age 23..........umm thats kinda impressive. The name King James just suits him. Tony Parker is a point guard and doesn't stay mostly in the paint he shots everywhere and runs the point.
