But I came across this guys myspace and I noticed his caption was " 1 John 1:3 " I hadn't looked at it before and when i read it I really liked it.

How can I add him and start up a normal convo without sounding like a freak/stalker?

I'm saying that because I don't even know him, he may live across the country.

i would add him first, wait upon his approval then send a classic email telling him thanks for the add, then also add in how are you doing. this should start off the conversation normally.
