Brett Favre wanted to go to the Vikings right? And now the Packers have a trade deal that if the Jets trade him to the Vikings or anyother team then the Jets have to give up 3 first round choices to the Packers. Well what if the Jets just released Brett and then the Vikings picked him up? Would it have the same result if they traded him? I know that this is very unlikely especially since he said he was very happy to be a Jet and he even looks happy to be there. I am asking this as a Packers/Jets fan.

  1. I thought of that too, but since they let Pennington go for Favre, the Jets wouldn't be stupid enough to pull that ****! They finally have a QB that can help them win so why let him go? h**l in my opnion Favre will only play one more year and play for the Jets.

  2. While normally, I hate when people just give an opinion instead of actually answering a question, I gotta agree with the first person who answered... that'd be the dumbest decision. Especially since the Jets put such  a high risk when they even made a deal with the Packers. I don't even know how to answer this question...

But lets just say its not gonna happen. while the Eagles is my team, I gotta respect the Jets for doing what they did. 1.) Getting rid of Chad 2.) Getting rid of Chad and 3.) Getting Brett.

Now if only the Jets were a team I really cared for, I'd be rooting for them when they play. Too bad we dont see Brett =(

  3. if they release him they will only have to give up a 4th rounder to the Pack but that wouldn't make much sense to do the deal from the Jets perspective.  Unless Brett pressures them to release him...hmmmm...I heard on the radio tonight that the Jets and Packers didn't get Brett's permission on the trade but he does seem happy but it could be an act.

  4. they'd have to talk about all this and work this deal out with minnesota. they'd have to trade some scrub for whatever value minnesota wants for favre and then release favre.  all this being talked about between the two parties would most likely be considered collusion and would be severely penalized by the league.  it's an idea, but i'm sure n**i goodell has already thought of it.

  5. Then the Jets would look like bigger asses then the Packers did

  6. Not likely as the Jets are going to keep him, they would lose out it they just cut him, they are on the hook no matter if he plays or not...
