I remember taking my moms makeup to school and putting it on behind her back; I don't want my daughter to have to do this but she is still a little girl. I was thinking she can where lip gloss and that is it what do you all think?

  1. lets put it this way, you when you were younger, why did you want to wear make-up? why do you think she would want to? im 15 and i rarely wear make-up. i think you should NOT allow a girl to wear make-up in middleschool(for me that was 5-8th grade). thats when s***s start their stuff. no offence to anybody at all. maybe just try giving her some chapstick or something similar. seriously some chapstick looks better than gloss does.

  2. i am young and ur daughter should be able to wear blush lip gloss mascara and some eye shadow

  3. I am in Junior high. I usually wear mascara, blush, and some lip gloss. I don't buy stuff for my own besides the lip gloss and cover up. I use my mom's mascara but I only wing the ends out on my top lashes. That's it. It's simple looks nice but natural. If you wore mascara behind your mom's back, you should probably let your own daughter wear it too. If your afraid that your "little girl" is growing up too fast, know that as she gets older there will be more fun things to do together. Sure sometimes you'll miss the barbies etc.. but your kids growing up. Every mother and father goes through it. But don't hold her back... help her explore differences... like weering more than some lip smackers.

  4. My mom wouldn't let me wear makeup at all through school, until i reached grade 8.

Grade 8 i was allowed to wear eye shadow and thats about it.

Grade 9 i wore mascara and then grade 10 i wore whatever i wanted.

  5. the way my aunt did it was great. i started off small, lip gloss and stuff. then light eye shadow, nothing crazy. eventually i got to mascara and eyeliner (i wouldnt let her do that yet but wen shes ready) but i had to make sure to wash it off EVERY night.

  6. I started wearing make up in 6th grade, my first year of middle school at age 11. That was years ago, I'm now 25 so now a days I would think that age is pretty typical...  I bought myself a cover girl powder compact, maybelline mascara and lip gloss.    As long as she is keeping it simple that age seems pretty common to begin wearing make up.  Maybe you can help her out, Neutrogena makes great mineral make up compacts - healthier on the skin and mineral make up is made to look more natural. That and lip gloss seems pretty reasonable I think...

  7. im gonna b 14 soon so i would know a lot about this. your daughter has just finished her last days of playgrounds, dorky sweat pants, unmatching outfits, and nice girls. it will b intimidating to see the S****y girls wearing close to nothing and caking their faces with makeup.-trust me, i KNOW becuz i just left it (ima b in high school next week!)  My mom NEVER told me i couldnt wear makeup. she knew i wouldnt over-do it becuz i was always the "perfect child" the straight A student, the nerdy 1. i hav no sibs so it might b different for her. anyway. to get back 2 the point; i dont know becuz i dont know what kind of girl she is. bratty, S****y (its possible, some girlz are already into that stuff by 6th grade), open (2 conversation i mean), sweet, sensitive, smart?? i think she should be able to wear eyeliner. (thats what i wear right now) and lip gloss. thats pretty much  all i ever see on girls anyway in jr high so thats all she needs. dont giv her lipstick cuz she'll b made fun of. (people asked me if i just got finished eating a horse) so yeah.  she should b allowed to wear eyeshadow to events (like after school.) and thats about it!!! hope i helped a bit

  8. I would say clear mascara, lip gloss (I would do like bonne belle or lip smackers or something for kids) and maybe white or a light eyeshadow so it's really faint. Then she can feel like she's wearing makeup but it won't really be noticeable.  Walmart has a nice bonne belle/lip smacker section and also eyelipsface has $1 cosmetics, you can order it online at eyelipsface.com or use their store locater for the nearest vendor.

  9. let her wear lip gloss and a little bit of eye shadow in really light shades

    am 15 btw

tho i go crazy with the make up =]

  10. I have a daughter, me as a sixteen year old, i would do a lot of things behind my mothers back. having s*x, and concieving a beautiful baby girl, Buffy Bianca. She was 13 years old when she asked me if she could use makeup. I told her "no, you are way too young." but then i thought about it and i told her "a little makeup is fine, just don't cake it on your face, or wear too much of it to make you impress a guy." we had a little talk about my mistakes in life and how she could wear makeup, but not a whole lot. just where it's nice, and pretty. good luck, and just tell her yes. -Marty Jean Baker

  11. Junior High is actually a great time for a girl to start experimenting a bit with makeup.  I'd definitely allow mascara, eyeshadow within reason (a nice neutral like Clinique's Lucky Penny) and a sheer gloss. If she's got great skin, now is the perfect time for her to learn how to keep it great.  A good cleansing routine should become a habit for her now.  I'd let her try her hand at makeup now, but start by taking her to a department store for a quick makeover.  Tell the beauty adviser that she's a first-timer and just learning.  A makeover is free, although they do usually expect you to buy an item or two.  The adviser can show your daughter which colors are best for her and how to apply with a light hand. I've done hundreds of teens and watched them as they matured and became really good at doing their own makeup.  Many of them just come to me for prom makeovers now, and  it's always great to see lovely young girls that learned the right way to wear makeup early on. There's no need to spend a bundle on cleansers and makeup though - she can find good products at Target or Walmart.

  12. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup at all at that age.  I was raised in a strict Christian home.  As I got older I wore a little eye liner but that was about it.  I was like 18 or 19.

Now, if you think she is interested in wearing it simply sit her down and talk to her about it since you do not want her to hide it from you (you're a good mom).  If she accepts the offer to wear makeup then walk her through how to apply it (less is always best) this will open up so many channels for you and her.  But if she declines wanting to wear makeup then simply be okay with that too.

  13. It's really up to you, she is your daughter and you have to decide what age she should be able to wear make-up.   I'd say clear lip gloss and eye shadow.  That's all I wore for make-up in middle school.  Now I'm a junior in high school and I wear mascara, clear lip gloss, eye shadow, and coverup.

Is rubbish grammar the sign of a wannabe chav mother now?

Make up! at her age? Do you want her to turn into a stupid chav who is obssesed with their looks?

  15. Um... i started wearing eyeliner and mascara when i was 9.. when i was 11 i started wearing eyeliner mascara foundation concealer lip gloss, everything. Let her wear it all... nothing wrong with looking good!

  16. Start at the age of 14. But only a little. Too much can over-power her face. Let her wear clear mascara and lip gloss.

She's still a little young for powder and eyeliner and all that stuff.

  17. don't listen to that one girl. junior high is not 'at that age'. she just got out of fifth grade, for god's sake. lip gloss sounds fine, as long as its not all bright and flashy in color. no eye makeup... you don't want her to look S****y. the one girl was right about clear mascara, it wont really show, and she'll feel a little more grown up. anyway, when i wanted to start wearing makeup, my mama just bought me a purse. made me feel grown. LOL.

  18. I think mascara is a bit much. Maybe a subtle pink blush with lip gloss.

  19. Well im a junior in highschool now, and untill 8th grade my mom would only let my wear lipgloss, a nice eyeshadow (like light sparkly brown, or pink something like that) and she would let my curl my eyelashes.

i think thats good, because you dont want them growing up too fast :)

  20. SHES IN JUNIOR HIGH?LET HER WEAR A LITTLE MORE THAN LIP GLOSS.MAYBE A BIT OF SHADOW AND MASCARA?I WORE MAKE UP IN JR HIGH AND I TURNED OUT JUST FINE:)SERIOUSLY THO,WHAT WILL IT HURT?SHES AT THAT AGE AND U GOTTA LET HER GROW UP A BIT:)

  21. im starting jr.high and im allowed to wear everything but heavy eyeliner.most girls are allowed the same

  22. i'm 15 and still not allowed to wear makeup... my mum said she would let me when i'm 21.. i would die by then.. LoL..

btw, i seriously think 15 is a good age to start wearing makeup.. just let her try simple things first...  i think clear or light pink lipgloss would be great.. =)

  23. Most girls in Middle School wear lip gloss that has a little color, a brown or black eyeliner and mascara which ever color that looks good with her eyes and hair and maybe just a little eye shadow. You could go to walmart or  target also E.L.F. has quality cosmetics for 1$ each. I have ordered from them and they work really well.

  24. I think 7th-8th grade is a good age. I'm starting Junior High and I don't wear makeup because it's for old and ugly people who need to make them selves pretty. I'm already pretty enough =D

  25. I think the good age is 13. She should be able to make her own decisions about how she wears her make up. It's her face.

  26. My daughter is 10 and occasionally I allow her to wear make up for special events. Kids these days just want to fit in, so I would agree with your idea. I think a subtle lip gloss and a touch of mascara is more than enough on a daily basis. Try to teach her to go for more classy or nude shades, as I have plenty of awful pictures of myself at 13 or 14 with bright purple lipstick and its not a good look!

  27. i started wearing a little eyeliner at 12
