  1. its awkward but theyre not related haha.

    so i guess its fine.

  2. It is right, just maybe awkward if your families come together a lot.

  3. She is not related to him at all. Not even by marriage. Your niece is related to your husband by marriage but not to his family. The only time it is not right is when there is a blood relation.

  4. No way, there's no harm in that at all! Its cute!

  5. there is no blood relation between them, let them have fun.

  6. no relation..its fine :)

  7. Your sister's child is your niece by blood.

Your husband's nephew (child of HIS sister or brother) are not by blood to your niece.  Excuse me, but they could only be related by blood IF your husband or one of his brothers had a child with your sister resulting in your niece.  I'm sorry to put it that way, but I want you to see this clearly.

So his nephew is NOT related by blood to your niece.  You are related by blood but your husband is not, he is only related by marriage.

When two people are related by blood in the first or second generation (first or second cousins by blood), it is typically illegal in most if not all states.  Third cousins by blood can legally have relationtions or get married.  And even that causes some eyebrows to raise, but it is legal.

I would say it is perfectly legal for his nephew and your niece to like each other, to even date, have a relationship or get married because they are NOT related by blood, only by marriage.

Why you are upset or offended is because it seems wrong considering that they appear to be related at the first generation level...and you would be exactly right, if they were related by blood.  If it were not legal, than two men from one family could not marry two women from another family (the same family). Your brother or sister could not marry his brothers or sisters.  But intermarriage between two families happens more often than you think so long as there is no blood tie.

  8. They are not blood or genetically related... so there is nothing wrong with their attraction... accept for how uncomfortable you seem to be by it.

  9. They are not technically related and there would be nothing "weird" if they were to eventually get married.

  10. I think there is no harm! I would not stress out about it unless this boy is a bad boy, then ok, find someway to end it now!

  11. They could be related if your present husband had s*x with your sister and your niece is his daughter.  Did that happen?
