Okay...considering the switch from PC to Mac?

Give me the DO's and the DON'Ts of PC vs MAC. I do a lot of graphic design. I mainly use it for school (daily, well several times a day, reports, research, etc) and some for the family business (invoices). I am NOT, i repeat NOT a windows fan! I love the Mac laptops (Air specifically). currently I use adobe photoshop and coreldraw, the good versions of both.

Please...tell me why I should...or why I shouldn't make the switch.

  1. i have never used mac my self but every computer savvy person I know says Mac is the way to go. From what I hear a Mac can even run Windows better than PC!

  2. PC is better because the programs are more basic and most people use them.  But if it's only for your personal use , go with the Mac.  if you like the look of it, and you like how it has good graphics, and you know how to  use it very well... go for it!

  3. I'm a PC owner and do not own a MAC, but I know for the reasons you indicated...MAC is your best bet.  I have a job due to PC's inability to work reliably.  If you had to interact with a business network/domain or had might have to add new components or new software that could potentially be PC-only, then I'd say go with a PC.  But you're a grpahics person and the only thing you do business-wise is a spreadsheet...MAC is the best for you (not for all..but for your situation, certainly).

  4. you already said the key word!!!!!!!!!

your a graphic designer....that's reason enough to switch to a mac.

Photoshop is a RAM hungry program. Every designer i know favors a mac over a pc....no contest...hands down.

    do it

  5. for graphic designers Macs are considered better than PCs and are seen more often in the industry.

but being a designer myself I like both PCs and Macs and would suggest getting a Mac but keeping your PC if possible.

  6. You should switch to Mac. I jst came back from Hollywood, California. I visited USC- University of Southern California- and they are packed with Macs. They use them for animation, graphic design...it's amazing. Room after Room they're filled with Macs.

I have two Macs, the iMac and MacBook Pro, i also have a Dell PC, but i prefer the Mac. It's faster, more organized, and is great with GD and Photoshop.

Hope you switch to the Mac!
