  1. Increase intake of green leafy veggies, drink more water, a little coffee here and there. Get more physical activity.

Also you may want to try a laxative once to get things moving. Just don't make them a habit. try the dietary changes just do the laxative once in the beginning to clear you up.

  2. constipation is usually caused by lack of fiber in a persons diet, and also lack of hydration.  just try to make sure you're consuming enough fruits and vegetables, and also make sure you're drinking enough water. you need enough water in a day to help your body digest the food you consume in addition to remaining hydrated.

  3. plenty of fluids and fiber.  Colace could also help.  It is an over the counter stool softner.

  4. lots of water and cereals for breakfast. Fruit helps too.

  5. drink lots of water, make sure you eat vegetables everyday.. maybe even drink coffee that can make you go. but get some fiber in your diet! prunes or benefiber.

  6. Oh dear.

Don't force it or you will end up with painful piles.

Here are a few things that help move it along, though you probably know the basics like fibre and exercise:

Linseed: add a bit to your cereal in the morning

Walking: exercise in general is a must but walking massages the bowel and helps move things so walk instead of taking the bus/car when you can

Apple juice is great for when you are a bit 'stuck'. It's even better than prune juice.

Drink enough water- one and half litres to 2 litres a day to soften stools.

Fibre in the diet: brown bread, cereals, fruit and veg (make sure to get 5 fruit/veg a day and eat whole grain cereals instead of white, refined carbs.

Relaxation exercises: yoga or whatever helps because if you are stressed or tense you can 'hold onto' everything.

Probiotics help keep your gut healthy - live yogurt, yakult etc

If nothing helps get checked by your GP to make sure there is no underlying cause.

    good luck

  7. There are various reasons for constipation but if  you have it constantly you have to re-educate your bowel to work property and this may take some time.

My son, who is nine, is under the doctors for this at the moment, and it will take a year to sort out.

We have been advised to make sure that he does not over drink, because this can affect his food intake, and to ensure that he eats five portions of fruit and vegetables each day. On top of this he takes lactulose (sugary medicine) to soften the stools and senakot to make his bowel want to push the waste out of his body.

I would suggest that you go to your gp but there is various advise on the website below which may help.

  8. you aren't taking on enough fluid, try to drink at least 6 glasses a day.

Also, try to eat more healthily
