I live just on the boarder of two different states (IL and MO) and have my drivers license from the state of IL. I have gotten two tickets in MO and one ticket in IL. Ever since i got my DL i have had a need for speed and every time i get behind the wheel i always feel that i need to go really fast for whatever reason. My parents have told me that i need to slow down cause i have doubled the speed limit a few times and am always going about 20 over. Also the threaten to take the car away :(

So what are some good tips to slow my butt down?

Also I have 2 tickets in MO and one ticket in IL. The ticket in IL was on court supervision and the other two tickets were changed to illegal parking (heired a lawyer). What happens with the court supervision ticket? is it still on my record or is it gone? Also with the tickets in MO will they show up on my record or will they not get reported?

One last question: does anyone know how long ticket/s take to go away and not haunt my life anymore?

Thanks in advance!

  1. your probably won't slow down until  you injure yourself or kill someone .it's too late when your standing in front of a judge charged with manslaughter. i've picked up body parts and packed them in ice. i've also had to knock on doors in the middle of the night to tell families that their loved ones are never coming home. you can get where your going at legal speeds. just last week we had a passenger in a car killed by drag racers. the car went airborne and snapped the girls head clean off. her spine was sticking up where her neck should have been.slow down kid or the grave or prison will bring you to a screeching halt.

  2. I had the same problem and would dread long highway drives because I knew it wouldn't be long before I found myself at 85-90.  I still have the problem but not as bad because I now have a car with cruise control and set it at 65-70 and that helps a lot.  If there is a lot of traffic and I can't use the cruise, I now tend to talk myself into staying in the slow lane and only pass if the cars are doing under 65, so I don't feel the urge to speed as much because I usually stay out of the fastest lane.

Gas prices also made an impact.  It saves a lot of gas going 65 instead of 75..  that right there should be a bit of incentive.

  3. Ok - the important thing to remember is that you have graduated drivers license - two moving convictions in 24 months.

Your supervision is supervision - it will not change in Illinois on a traffic ticket.

You got a big kiss from the court with the amendment of those two tickets - your very lucky.

I would suggest you dump your current ride - because driving is a mentality and I bet you drive something sporty and you feel that need from when you get behind the wheel.

Your going to loose your license - because your deals in court are long over - and you seem to be destined to get another ticket for speeding.

Your not a bad kid - but you are a bad driver.

  4. All tickets will remain on your record.  It will show up on criminal histories done by courts and places that check your vehicle report.  You should buy a beater car that cant barely go the speed limit or pay your own insurance on your vehicle... you will learn real quick then.  Also, you can look into buying a system for your car that stops your car from going over 60 or 70 mph.  My cousin who is a cop, jokingly told me he was gonna put one on my car if i didnt stop speeding.  But all it took for me was paying my own auto insurance.  Its expensive enough without adding speeding tickets onto it.

  5. Sell you car and take the bus.

  6. Your parents should have taken your wheels and your license away from you.  You are on your way to losing your license.  When you get it back your insurance will be astronomical for years and years.  Your behavior proves that you are too immature to drive and your parents should be ashamed of themselves for not doing their job as parents.  If you kill someone you will go to prison.

  7. Apparently you have no understanding of the kind of damage a speeding car can do when it hits something.

You are on the course of inevitability...regardless of how "good" a driver you are, there are always variables that you cannot control or dodge.

There are reasons for speed limits.

I just hope you don't mame or kill someone while fulfilling your selfish and immature "need for speed".
