My family were having a full on argument about if the palace in this scene is real or not in "the princess diaries" (crazy I know)

All I want to know is if its real or not and what country is it in and whats its real name thanks heaps!

Nope, not real.  The movie was shot entirely around Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, and mostly at Stage 2 in Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.
