Okay im depressed, now what?

what can i do at home to make myself less depressed without involving therapy, etc.

any websites or tips, thank you!!

  1. Read the Bible, look for God and learn to believe in HIm. The word of the Lord can heal your heart and your mind. It is like water, wash out bad thoughts. King David went to a lot of trouble, and he was never depress. God help him. Pray, ask God for forgiveness and forgive those that have hurt you and you will feel better. Pray is when you talk to God. Tell Him all what is happening to you. He will help you. He knows you and knows all your troubles. Just pray and believe.

    Do you know that the Lord Father God wants to comunicate with us? The way we talk to Him is by prayer. Read the Psalm. Read the book of Joshua 1:8. Also read:

    Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4).

    I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8).

    You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. (Isaiah 26:3).

    Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3).

    Go to a Christian church and pass to the from for prayer. There are a lot of miracles at some christians church. Go to learn from the word of the Lord. Be blessed. Be free of all despression. I did it and it work.

    I did it, and my whole life changed for good. I did not do it, He did it for me. Jesus Christ if the Lord. Jesus loves you, love Him and you will never regret it.

  3. I'm so sorry. Depression is know as the "common cold" when it comes to mental health, so you are hardly alone, the vast majority of people will deal with it at some point. Here are some options:

    Get out of the house and take a walk, or join a gym. This will raise your physical defenses against it (don't be sedentary, it makes it worse)

    Focus on other people. Depression is very selfish and wants you to focus on you. do things for other people by volunteering or just having drinks or lunch with friends.

    Herbal meds. Sam-E is a great herbal med and aside from improving your mood it also repairs memory damage done by drug/alcohol use and joint damage with almost no side effects and you can buy it over the counter at all drug stores. There is also St.Johns Wart but it can interact with certain perscription meds.

  4. Exercise helps in a huge way! Even if you don't feel like it, get outside and walk or do something. Mowing the grass even helps. God bless.

  5. do something that you think is fun. what do you like to do? watch a movie, listen to tunes, play playstation, read a book, talk to someone on the phone, try thinking of something to cheer yourself up, and then go and do it. if its just being at home that you hate, then go out somewhere else.

    Blues: fleeting melancholy produced by environmental or emotional factors

    If you could get rid of a chemical imbalance of the brain without medication or counseling you might try self-medicating with alcohol, drugs, gambling etc. until you not only have mental illness but addiction too and spend a few months in an institution.

    OR

    If you have the blues, you could exercise, go out in the sunshine for a couple hours a day, be amid nature for a while every day, be creative at least once a day, go to classes and learn something new,

    volunteer at the food bank, and your blues with lift within a few days.
