My husband and I are planning a 2-week long trip to somewhere overseas (we live in the U.S.) but we're having a hard time deciding where to go; there are so many beautiful and interesting places!

Anyone have any suggestions on a cool place to visit? Much appreciated, thanks!

  1. INDIA. THOUGH A MONTH WOULD BE BETTER . YOU WOULD NEED IT . UNLESS YOU GO FOUR OR FIVE TIMES TO COVER THE COUNTRY.

  2. Come over here to Yorkshire.  Go to Goathland, see the station used as Hogwarts station in the Harry Potter films and ride on antique steam trains over to Whitby - where Dracula landed.  Have fish and chips on the pier.  Then take a ride back and go to Thirsk and see the real Skeldale House, where Alf Wight (better known as James Herriot) practiced as a vet.  Come to York and see Clifford's Tower, where a party of jews committed suicide rather than surrender to the Roman Army.  See the Castle Museum, and spend some time in the condemned cell where famous highwayman d**k Turpin spent his last night, as well as the recreated Edwardian and Victorian streets (using furniture and fittings discarded by shops at the time).  Take a look at York Minster, and the Yorkshire Eye (not as impressive as the London Eye, but less of a queue to wait...)

    Hope that helps...
