This morning I was late getting out of the house for work so I decided I would put my son's shoes and socks on him when I was getting gas. So as I am breaking the bank filling up I started putting them on him. He has spider man sneakers, and new balance sneakers both are black and white. As I am tieing one shoe I looked at the other and noticed I grabbed a shoe from each pair, luckly one left foot the other right. I feel bad cause I took him to daycare, well I took him in and I carried the shoes in so if need be he could still play outside. I feel bad or crazy or something.

  1. Not a bad mommy...just a busy one. Its a funny story you can tell his girlfriends later!

  2. You're not a bad mother, it was a simple confusion.

    A funny one, btw.

    God Bless

  3. LOL thats cute, no your not a bad mommy, I almost walked out of the house the other day with two different flipflops on cause I was to busy trying to remember if I had everything for my daughter.

  4. They probably thought he 'helped' pick out the shoes. Kids like to mix their shoes like that. Don't feel bad.

  5. Your a busy mom:)  You are not a bad mom or crazy and shouldn't feel bad.  This doesn't sound like regualr "behavior" for you so don't worry, these things happen, besides, I doubt he cares:)

  6. i think everyone has one of those momets. it doesnt make you a bad mommy. it may make you feel silly though. at least you got one for each foot.

  7. No you're not a bad mommy!!

You should take pictures though, so you can remember it for years to come.

  8. lol..busy mommy syndrome!! it's not that bad..at least you grabbed a lefty and a righty!

  9. LOL, thats not being a bad mother at all, your son and the other little boys all probably thought it was cool!  As long as they fit and are clean, no worries!

  10. How old is he?

Honestly, I don't think he cares if you're asking this in the baby section.

Relax!  You're not a bad mommy.

I'm a bad mommy.  My twins got their 1st pair of hard soled sneakers yesterday and they're 14 months old.  Before that all they had were soft training shoes.  lol

  11. This doesn't make you a bad mom at all. Things happen sometimes, you forgot stuff, you grab the wrong shoe. If you didn't buy your son shoes at all, that would make you a bad mother. Don't be so harsh on yourself.

  12. That doesn't make you a  bad mommy at all ..It just makes you a rally busy mommy and that a normal thing to happen when your running late..lol

  13. That doesn't make you a bad mom.  Anyone of the mom's at daycare will know it happens. They were just thanking God it wasn't them today.  I think it is a something to write down in the baby book for a good laugh later.

  14. You're not a bad mommy, these things happen.  At least you had a right and a left!  They've probably seen much worse at daycare!

Maybe this will cheer you up... I actually worked with a grown woman that came to work with two different shoes on one day ~ she never even noticed until we asked why she was wearing one black and one navy shoe!

  15. If that is the worst thing you ever do then girl you are a great mom. Look at all these parents who leave their child in the hot car and didn't remember they were in the car at all So in a few weeks or less you will be laughing  at yourself. No your are not a bad mom.Try that when you son is older and see if you get away with it. LOL.

  16. Lol - No, of course you're not a bad mommy! :) Trust me, everyone has those moments, and if you're like me (I have 3 boys)...those moments come quite often lol. One day I was shopping with the 2 older boys and one of my sons noticed that I had 2 different flip flops on OOPS haha

  17. You're a very busy person.  If wearing mismatched shoes was the worst thing I've seen at a day care, then this world would be a much better place.

I've seriously seen kids come in with mud caked in the child's hair.  I've seen kids come in with both lice and fleas in their hair.

You're doing the very best that you can and trying to maximize any time you have by multitasking.

    Good Luck!

  18. Don't worry! That was an honest mistake and funny one too! My baby rarely wears shoes because he kicks them off all the time.

  19. LOL.. I'm sorry to laugh but I thought your child had gotten hurt before I saw the entire question. You're fine! We had twins that came to a day care I was working at and their shoes were ALWAYS switched around. One time they came in with one wearing both right shoes and the other wearing both left shoes.

I doubt your son will be emotionally scarred from this. No big deal.

  20. You are a NORMAL mommy!! Welcome to the club.

When my son was 2 we were rushing out the door, I got him together and dressed, threw on my boots as it was winter, grabbed my pumps for the office and zipped out the door. After dropping him off and getting into the office I realized I had grabbed 1 shoe from two different pairs. I had to wear my boots all day.

  21. You aren't the first mom to send their kid out of the house with miss shoes. I'm surprised you made it out of the house with a matching set :)

I think most of us have done it and I wouldn't worry about what someone else thinks about it. I'm sure daycare will notice but I bet it will bring a smile to some faces today.

  22. Get out the whips, we need to beat you for being a terrible mom!!!!!!!!!

    Just kidding.  :)

Smile, it was an innocent mistake.  No hairs on his head harmed, no need to rush to a hospital.  Everything is all good.

In fact, you are a good mom, because even though this is just a slight mistake, you are worried about it.  That proves you care sooo much about your son!

    :)
