I'm about to start english riding. Can anyone tell me some good websites to look for some good breeches and tall boots? I dont want anything too fancy or expensive, just something to ride in. Thanks!

  1. Before turning into websites, I would suggest going to some english barns and tack shops. Usually, older riders tend to outgrow their riding gear and sell it at barn sales or tack shops secondhand quite cheap. Then, my next suggestion would be, eBay. http://www.ebay.com  Many people will sell their clothes there as well. Just make sure you are looking to make sure you are getting a proper fit.

  2. I'm not sure what price range you are looking at but if you are

small you can where large or X-large kids sizes they are

much cheaper. If you are still growing a lot there is no sense

in buying expensive boots. Just do what I did, go to Macy's or

something and by tall black boots with a small wide heel.

Mine were only 35.00 or so on clearance at the end of

season .  If you want real boots then i would suggest

paddock boots with cheap chaps, when I did that last year

my boots were only 70 dollars and my chaps were like 19.

I have been riding 7 years and I don't have a million dollars to

spend either. lol. I hope this helps

    Good Luck!

P.S. sometimes e-bay has slightly used or unused boots that

are inexpensive and still look great!!

P.P.S Save your money on clothes and boots and get your own saddle and bridle and stuff and i love my saddle and my cheap jods (although now i am really into it so i do buy more expensive things but they aren't that much more expensive than before)

  3. Since you probably wont be doing any fancy shows anytime soon I would get paddock zip boots and half chaps.

    doversaddlery.com

    statelinetack.com

  4. try dover saddlery! they have everything! my absolute favorite things to ride in are Kerrits tights. there actually pretty, and lightweight so you dont get too hot. they say there only for summer, but i use them year round! there not too expensive... i think $57

good luck you will absolutely LOVE english riding!

  5. petsmart.com has some

    ebay.com <<< BAD!

But what i would do, is go somewhere where you can try them on. riding pants and supplies ARENT liek regular clothes.
