I went to an open day to one of the major universitys in my state...and they have an undergraduate for biomedicine which leads into medicine and surgery. although the professor said that this is more for people who arent sure what kind of medical career they want to do...there is another university that offers and undergraduate degree...and because i am sure of the type of surgeon i want to be should i go for the undergraduate? or do the full 8 years and then the extra years to specialise in my chosen field?

because if i do it at the university that offers the undergraduate ill get at least 5 years taken off...

what do you think?

i need advice

please thanks

  1. IF you can, I'd go for the undergrad in biomed leading to med/surg. Once you have completed that training, you will know for sure what area you want to specialize in, and go from there. You may decide at that time, you want to specialize in medicine rather than surgery. I think you'll have more options going the biomed direction. GOOD LUCK :)
