  1. In my opinion I would make my parents something (Dinner, art, etc.) because atleast my parents appreciate that more than something you buy.

  2. Dinner sounds good.

  3. who gives their PARENTS an anniversary gift, it is not like U are married to them! Just stick to them getting each other gifts and be done with it!!! :)

  4. My neighbor's two children made an anniversary dinner for their parents every year while they were young and living at home. I remember the year I helped them "secretly" shop for TV dinners and ice cream. The really special part was that they would arrange to go spend the night with a neighbor (that year it was me) right after putting dinner on the table -- so that Mommy and Daddy could kiss and be romantic. Maybe you (and your siblings) could prepare a simple meal and then scoot over to a relative or neighbor's house for the evening? And no giggling allowed OK?

  5. Don't get anything big, because like you said, it's more for the 25th and 50th anniversaries.

You could just make them dinner, a cake, buy balloons, etc.

Or you could get them gift certificate to a restaurant where they could go out for dinner.

Or buy them a day pass at a spa maybe?

    Just a few ideas!!

  6. For a thirteenth wedding anniversary the gift traditionaly given is Lace but the more modern item would be Textiles, Furs.

  7. If you're motivated to make a scrapbook now, DO IT. Time is precious, life is precious.  You don't know where you will be in 7 years, or whether they will be in good health (God forbid anything happens to them).  Your folks will cherish the scrapbook.  On their 20th, you can make them another one with the next 7 years.  You're a very thoughtful person -- I'd be stoked if I had a daughter like you. Good luck!

  8. I say go big! Every year is an important milestone that should be celebrated. You never know when you're going to get another year. My parents were married 17 years before my dad passed away.. The scrapbook idea was awesome. It's great to show them that you appreciate every year of hard work to make a family a success. Don't wait 7 more years to make one. Good luck! =)
