so I kept asking what dog food is the best but only like 3 people respond with totally different opinions! I NEED MORE!

Eagle Pack Holistic is good? whats in it that is supposidly bad in the long run? And why do people keep suggesting Canidae even thought he people who bought it out changed the ingredients and they were number 1 on pet food recall list?!

There are so many good all natural pet foods out there. Our kennel is now selling a product called Nature's Logic. It's made in America and does not have any synthetic minerals or vitamins, they are all natural and not processed. Our owner did some research on dogs tolerance and health from synthetic ingredients.

Hey i understand your frustration.  I went to my local PetFoodDepot and can you believe they actually have sales reps for dog food.  So i asked questions on why their food was so freaking good.  This guy gave me a coupon for Nutriasource, and guaranteed that if my dogs had bad gas that i can bring the half eaten bag for a full refund

i don't know anything concerning the food choices you listed except they are very pricy

There is no "best" dog food.  Each one is different..  one brand may work out well for your dog, while another dog may do better on another brand.

Your best bet is to research, and see what's in your area!  Find something thats in your financial means, that you can easily aquire.

I have always fed my two yorkies Science Diet.  They are healthy and happy at 10 years old.  No problems due to food.  Oh I feel the lamb and rice small bites.

Burns. Its organic, uses free range meats and brown rice. I have a Labrador and a Cavalier and they both thrive on it.

Personally I like Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diet (LID) and Bil-Jac.

Both are allergen/gluten free, and dogs really like them

Look at ingredients first, not just the brand from what you hear. No fillers, or corn.

Read the ingreadiants. Good dog foods should start with a real meat product followed by a rice. Bad dog foods have a "meat by product" listed somewhere in the middle of the ingredients.

purina is a good dog food I have never heard of the brand you are talking about, besides why go with a little known brand when you can get a reputable name brand like Purina which is nationally known

I highly recommend Natural Balance. I too hate b*llsh*t from from people. That's why I recommend it. My sister's dog would not enjoy eating kiblle without anything mixed with it. My sister would nag about it all the time. Now when we switched to natural Balance, balance was restored. Plus, it's really healthy. Try it out. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I agree that the best dog food is the one that your dog likes and thrives on, not what someone else says.

Dogs, like people may like/dislike certain foods.

Currently in our household we buy Eukanuba for my senior lab, she has ate the food her whole life and doesn't tolerate other foods when we have tried to change brands, so she eats it and I think its the "best" for her.

We also have a lab/pit mix and he would eat and tolerate anything that we give him,  and I feed him purina so that is "best" for him.

Not only is it important to make sure that they are fed, but also that they are getting the proper exercise and attention that they need and deserve.

It is more expensive but so worth it :)

Instead of using by-prodructs and corn or useless grains for fillers these companies use potatoes and vegitables for fillers.  You cannot go wrong with these foods, and any high end pet store will highly recommend them

As far as I know, Eagle Pack is great food.

As long as the company of Canidae keeps up with their good standards, the food's quality won't change regardless of who is the overall owner - unless the new owner fired everyone and is taking over day to day control.  Just because Budweiser was bought by a Belgian company, it doesn't mean that Budweiser will start brewing Belgian Style Beer (although that would be great!).  I know that some people had a problem with the change in ingredients and it upset the dogs, but the ingredients are still high quality.

I feed my dog a mix of the Nature's Variety raw patties and Natural Balance kibble.  It's what works best for her.  It may not be best for your dog, but it's great quality food that just works with  my dog's sensitive system.

You are going to continue to get differing opinions.  Some from the "Purina & Iams is best" crowd who haven't actually done any homework on dog foods.  Some from people who are convinced that raw is the only way.   You are also going to get a lot of variety within the high quality market as far as answers.  If my friend's dog does great on Evo, that's fantastic for her and that's the "best" dog food for her.  But, I know that Evo doesn't work with my dog.  That doesn't discount her experience, just like my choice isn't wrong either.

could care less about your silly '10 points' but the BEST dog food is the one that your dog thrives on and that is readily available for you to feed him.

My dog eats Alpo food its great. Sometimes she will eat pedigree. The food is wet food though because my dog doesn't eat dry food.
