Okay so i'm 16 and looking for my first job....?

Question

I really love children and plan on going into teaching in college...where should i apply and do you guys have any tips for applying for a job that deals with children...or just applying for your first job in general?

p.s.i applied to work at an afterschool program at an elementary school but have heard nothing...so i'm looking for another alternative! Thanks.

Babysitting and local day cares are the only 2 really.  Subsituting and whatnot require an associates degree.

sometimes, at your local college, they will have a daycare for students with children, and you could work there. or , try your citys " CITY HALL " as they may have recreation positions avaible w/the children

Have you tried volunteering at the local YMCA?  Or at the library?  

The library sometimes has positions for workers, and once you get your 'foot in the door' you will be more likely to be hired WHEN they need a position.
