  1. Yes, you will be able to dye your hair.

  2. Wait until you're in the second trimester, and then get foils rather than an all over colour.  With foils the colour never touches you scalp so it's a safer bet.

  3. I asked my doctor since I've been dying my hair for 20 years.  She said no in the 1st trimester, and then only once or twice in the second and the third.  So she's ok if I do it up to 4 times total the last 2 trimesters only

  4. Nope, you really shouldn't as chemicals can enter your blood stream via your scalp.

My roots where unreal by the time I gave birth and I couldn't wait to put some color in it :) Now lots of it is falling out due to post partum hair loss, but that's only normal.

Anyway, maybe you can use a natural hair dye like Henna (they do all sorts of colors) nor you're pregnant.

  5. I did.  I'm pretty sure you're ok in the 2nd and 3rd trimester ( when the crutial developement is over)

  6. I didn't even though I wanted so bad. I just don't want to risk anything.

To me, if there's a lil risk that could harm the baby, I wouldn't even think twice of doing it.

  7. I was told not in the 1st trimester as well.  Discouraged in the 2nd.  Ok to do it once in the 3rd.

  8. no not in the first trimester because that is a critical time, after the 1st trimester it is safer because chances of miscarriage reduce significantly. Although some women just wait until pregnancy is done it is alright to die  your hair after 1st T, just try and use dyes with natural extracts.

  9. My doc told me it's just fine to dye my hair.  She said it's okay to be around the odor once and a while...  if I were working in the salon and exposing myself to it daily she would be more concerned but just dying my hair when it needs it is fine.   I'm at 35 weeks now.

  10. i was in cosmetology school when i got pregnant with my oldest and was coloring my hair every other week. he is 30 now and just fine. the chemicals do not absorb into your body so it wont hurt the baby. the only problem you may have is the color may be off because of all the different hormones.

  11. after 12 weeks you should be just do it in a well ventilated room so you aren't inhaling all the fumes. there is such a small of hair dye that is absorbed through the scalp that after the first trimester it does not effect the baby. My doctor said the problem is in the beginning of your pregnancy if you are inhaling the fumes it could be harmful same thing with get acrylic nails nail wait until after the first trimester your almost there. Good Luck

  12. Most doctors will recommend that you wait until after the first trimester (around 12 weeks).  But because various hormone levels, my hairdresser said that even though it should not be harmful to baby after the 12weeks, that she could not promise that the color would be as we intended.  I've chosen to wait until after the baby is born.  (It's killing me to wait).  Some women color their hair and it takes just fine.  I'm afraid I would be that 1 in 100 to come out with pink or green hair.  :-].

    Good luck and congrats!!!

  13. As of right now, no studies have been done that conclusively show damage done to fetuses from dying your hair.  So it's a risk you take blindly since there hasn't been research done.  I personally avoided it.

  14. After the first trimester is the time to do it..13 weeks. I've done it twice and I'm 29 weeks. It's fine! Some people will tell you no because they are overly cautious, but there is no proof that it can do damage.

  15. I've always been told its ok after the 1st trimester. Use a dye with low ammonia and open the windows so you won't inhale the fumes.

  16. i've been dying my hair for the past 5 years...i'm 35 weeks pregnant and when i had asked my doc he said he doesn't recommend it but if i felt i couldn't handle an inch of roots to wait till after 6 months.  i dyed my hair at 7 1/2 months and my hair didn't take to the dye very well (the same brand and color i've been using) plus my hair got really dry...i'd say wait it out and let your hair shine.
