  1. If the jumper cables were hooked up backward it could have fried some electictronics. Take to a qualified shop and have it checked making sure you tell them what happened.

    BTW for the future:

REFER TO SERVICE MANUAL - Electronic components and onboard computers can be damaged by on-vehicle battery charging.

The red jumper cable goes to the positive post on the battery which is marked with a + sign for positive.

The black jumper cable goes to the negative post on the battery which is marked with a - sign for negative

    Here are the intructions

    1. Clamp one cable to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery.    Don't let the positive cable touch anything metal other than the battery terminals.

    2. Connect the other end of the positive cable to the positive terminal of the good battery.

    3. Connect one end of the negative (-) cable to the negative terminal of the good battery.

    4. Connect the other end of the negative cable to metal on the engine block on the car with the dead battery. Don't connect it to the dead battery, carburetor, fuel lines or moving parts.

    5. Stand back and start the car with the good battery.

    6. Start the stalled car.

    7. Remove the cables in reverse order.

  2. yes i agree, it's probably in you fuses. you may have shorted something out or overloaded it with the jump.

  3. check your fuses

  4. Well lets hope its just the fuses.  I doubt its running a little slower.. Its a good rule these days never to jump start a car.  best way is to disconnect your battery and charge it with a real charger or another persons car.  Just to many things can blow if you connect the wire backwards or let the cables touch at anytime (sparks) I see a lot of dumb car guy wanna bee's tap the clamps together to see of there is a connection.. BAD BAD BAD thing to do..

  5. well on my bmw you cant even see the battery... (05 325i)

but on the top left side of the engine compartment theres a red cable with a cover on it and a black cable with a cover on it... thats where you jump it..

if you have a bmw like mine lol. mines the only bmw im really familiar with

  6. hi there  the safest thing to do in future is to conect the cables but not try to start your car just let it charge up for a while then disconnect cables an start your with your own now charged battery  this stops you shorting any electrics or if you are the jumper car losing your ecu settings (this happened to me on my subaru when i jumped someones car) takes about 5 mins to charge but alot safer  hope you find this helpful
